I like a boy but but he says he needs to get to know me better?

Well I like a boy. I'm in the 8th grade, and I know that's too young to date and stuff, but I can't help it. But I really, really like him, and everyone thinks he likes me too. And finally, yesterday, he told one of my friends that he liked me. My friend told me, but now she says that he told her he needs to get to know me better. But I don't get it because we're in all of our cles together except for homeroom, plus we text a lot, plus, in all of our cles we talk to each other a lot. So what does he mean by he needs to get to know me better? I want to make it easier for him to ask me out, because my other friend, who happens to be this boys best friend, says that he's also nervous. I just don't know what to do. How can I let him get to know me better without seaming uber obvious. :) well thank u so much!!
